A man in Colorado has been arrested after a toddler was found dead in his car after a deadly stabbing attack.
A 21-year-old man was arrested after he drove his car into a group of pedestrians near a gas station in Colorado Springs.
He is charged with first-degree murder, first-class assault and other offenses.
The suspect was identified as Brandon Gossett, a 26-year old Colorado Springs resident who had been charged with multiple crimes.
He is the father of a 7-month-old son.
The attack took place on Friday afternoon.
Police say the man drove his vehicle into the group of people and then stabbed his way into a home, before leaving the scene.
A 19-year and 3-year group of family members and friends were inside the home at the time.
They were all unharmed.
The suspects then drove away in a white SUV.
The victims were able to escape the home.
Police say that when they arrived on scene, they found the child’s body inside the vehicle.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man was taken into custody by officers.
He has been released on bond.
